2025 Torres Strait Island Flag $2 Royal Australian Mint Roll.
2025 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Torres Strait Islander Flag being officially proclaimed as a Flag of Australia.
Designed by the late Bernard Namok in 1992, the flag holds deep cultural and historical significance for Torres Strait Islander people.
Its elements reflect their identity: green for land, blue for sea and black for the people. While the traditional Dhari headdress and the five-pointed star as the centre of the flag symbolise cultural heritage and the island groups.
Officially recognised in 1995, the flag has become a powerful symbol of pride, unity and resilience.
The Royal Australian Mint commemorates this significant anniversary with the release of this stunning $2 Mintmark Coloured Coin, which celebrates the enduring legacy of the flag and honours the rich traditions, history, and contributions of Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.
